Technology

All the components of the Mericle network product are delivered on a modern, client server technology platform which is easy to install and maintain. The server component can run as an application or a service under either workstation or server versions of most modern operating systems.

Low Maintenance

A Mericle network installation comprises the Events Server plus a generic client for each workstation. Upgrades are installed on the server only and automatically delivered to remote clients by events server - no additional work is required. Mericle does not depend on third party productivity components or any operating system data access components.

Data Security

Mericle supports single or segmented data files with incremental backup technology on the data server using transaction level logging. Automatic backups are configured and executed by the backup scheduler which can operate either independently or in conjunction with a server mirror. Communications between workstation and server can optionally be encrypted under SSL (Secured Socket Layer) technology and otherwise operate over a standard TCP/IP layer.

The Future

Mericle’s technology platforms embody support for open systems interoperability using a wide range of protocols including http, SOAP, ftp, ODBC, SSL, POP-3 , SMTP and IMAP. Events server is a frontline tool for capturing and co-ordinating healthcare records in an operational environment. As e-health standards evolve, Mericle’s ability to capture well contextualised information at first hand give it a natural strategic role in supporting other information systems without compromising the efficiency of health service provision activities.
